How Polki is Made
Artisans mount raw diamonds onto a gold foil base, which reflects light back through the stone to enhance its glow. The process involves placing gold foil sheets inside the mountings before positioning the diamonds. The reverse of the piece is often beautifully decorated with detailed Meenakari (enameling).
